Children, especially those who do not have a solid foundation, often struggle to communicate their needs and feelings. Youth will often ask for help in indirect ways, and much of the time this comes out through their behavior. This presentation will explore how children communicate their needs through their play, behavior, and interactions with others. Attendees will learn to look underneath the behavior to find the meaning of their actions and talk with youth about their feelings in a way that feels safe and creates a way for them to communicate appropriately.
